The Landing Bridge Cemetery has also been referred to as the Johnson Family Cemetery,
the Sand Hill Cemetery, and the Burying Ground (New York Cemetery Directory).
It is located on County Road 53 (which intersects with State Highway 11C in Brasher
Falls). On the county map, it is also referred to as the Brasher Falls-Helena Road. Go to
Brasher Center on Co. Rd 53, and then approximately 2 miles further is the small bridge,
and approximately 2/10 of a mile beyond the bridge, on the left hand side of the road,
among trees and sand dunes, there is a newly constructed rail fence around the cemetery
(March 2000). There are eleven stones, some standing and some not and some broken.
(This cemetery is not visible from the road, but the fence is). Digital photos were taken in
March 2000.
The measured coordinates for this cemetery are 44 54 01N and 074 45 15W.

The following notes are from a stone census located at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association in Canton (SLCHA), and recorded by M. Bond 1996.
Sand Hill Cemetery--Johnson Family 1843-1854 Brasher Falls-Helena Road;
Route 11C to Brasher Falls (now is Route 11--CBM) just past St. Patrick's Church turn
left at "Y" in road; River Street, past Fairview cemetery, 4.5 miles to Brasher Center, 2
mi further to bridge, cemetery is 2/10 of mile from bridge on LH on a sandy knoll near
road. Burial site unfenced, overgrown with brush and lilac bushes. 7 grave stones found-
-1/2 up right and 1/2 flat. Area to left becoming trash dump.
