Retired Grammar Teacher

A spring graveside service for Avis C. Bill, 101, formerly of United Helpers Nursing Home, will be held in Sevey Corners cemetery. Arrangements are with Frary Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bill died Friday evening in Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center
Born Feb. 23, 1900, in Childwold, daughter of Henry and Annabelle Sevey Carbary, she graduated from Tupper Lake High School and Potsdam Normal School.
Mrs. Bill was a grammar school teacher in the Port Chester and Mamaroneck school systems, retiring in 1963.
She married Edward G. Bill on Oct. 29, 1965, in Sacred Heart Church, Port Chester, with the Rev. Michael Kowalczyk officiating. Mr. Bill, a retired accountant with Watkins Products Inc., Winona, Minn., died in 1985.
Mrs. Bill enjoyed traveling.
Surviving is a nephew, James Davidson, Ottawa, Ontario.
Three sisters, Alta Waite, Iris McKay and Doris Davidson, died before her.
