A service for Floyd R. Demass, of Childwold, who was pronounced dead on arrival at Mercy General Hospital Wednesday afternoon, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Richer Funeral Home.
The Rev. Russell Stevenson, of the Tupper Lake Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Gale Cemetery in the spring.
Mr. Demass was born in Sterling Station, a son of Henry and Minnie Shortsleeve Demass. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, seeing service from 1921 to 1925 and again during World War II. He had retired as a chief petty officer. He also was a retired power plant operator from Paul Smiths Electric Light and Power Co.
Survivors include his wife, the former Phyllis Pauline Jones; one brother, Peter Demass of Fulton; and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Powell of Baldwinsville, Mrs. Iva Dumont of Fulton, and Mrs. Minnie Blodgett of North Hannibal.
