Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 p.m. for Austin L. McCuen, 67, who died unexpectedly at his home in Childwold at 2:30a.m. Monday. Death was attributed to a heart condition.
Rev. Frederick A. Widmann Jr.; pastor of the Tupper Lake Presbyterian Church, officiated at the services at Richer Funeral Home. Burial was in the family plot at Gale Cemetery.
Mr. McCuen was (unreadable) December 24, 1887 (unreadable) bert and Malinda Preston (unreadable) who moved there from (unreadable) ington. About 46 years ago, he married Miss Marion Green of Colton, who died at Childwold on June 11, 1947. Mr. McCuen for many years was engaged in farming and also worked on various woods jobs.
Surviving are two sons, Max, of Ogdensburg, and Robert of Childwold; one daughter, Mrs. Glen (Jean) Smith, also of Childwold, and six grandchildren.
