A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Richer Funeral Home for Mrs. William (Bessie) McMillan, 78, of 32 Waller Street, Piercefield, who died about noon Monday at her home. Burial will be in the Gale Cemetery.

Mrs. McMillan, who had been in failing health for several years, lived in Piercefield with her son, Nobel. She was born in Big Rapids, Mich. And she and her husband came to Piercefield about 50 years ago. He was a steamfitter for the International Paper Co. in Piercefield.

Surviving are three sons, Nobel, Orval of Malone and Gilbert of Rochester; one grandchild and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Swanson, of Ventura, Calif.

The body will repose at the funeral home until the time of the service.
