(March 29, 1911-August 29, 1959)

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 3 o’clock from Richer Funeral Home in Tupper Lake for Glenn C. Smith, 48, of Childwold, who died Friday night at 7:30 at the Sunmount VA Hospital after an illness of five days. Burial will be in the Gale Cemetery in Childwold. The Rev. Ernest Francis, pastor of the Tupper Lake Presbyterian Church will officiate.

He was born on March 29, 1911 in Fort Covington, the son of Ray and Winnifred LaPree Smith. He married the former Jean McCuen in Rochester about 15 years ago. He was a veteran of WW II.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Gary, 15; one daughter, Sharon, 12, and one stepson, Wayne Scanlon. Also two brothers, Leslie and Clifford, both of Fort Covington, and a sister, Mrs. Marjorie Brown of Massena.
