POTSDAM--Velva M. Clary, 86, of 332 Mayfield Apartments, died Wednesday morning at her home.

 

Mrs. Clary was a homemaker.

 

Born May 3, 1919, in Gouverneur, daughter of Hubert B. and Ella Beckstead Buris, she married Edgar J. Clary on Oct. 1, 1938. He died Dec. 27, 1988.

 

Se was a member of the Potsdam United Methodist Church.

 

Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Donna and Carson Ware, Massena; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Nina and John Alden, Pennsylvania, and Lois McKnight, Trenton, Ontario, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

 

Two sons, Leon and Roger, two brothers, Edward and Howard Burls, a sister, Lily Phillips, and a grandson died before her.

 

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Potsdam United Methodist Church with the Rev. W. Russell Clark officiating. Private burial will be in Hale Cemetery, Norfolk.

 

There will be no calling hours. Arrangement are with Buck Funeral Home, Norwood.

 

Donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
