Forklift driver

NORFOLK--Napolean J. Martin Jr., 64, of 6542 Waters Road, Red Creek, formerly of Norfolk, died Monday evening at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam. Mr. Martin had been visiting the area to attend the Tuesday funeral of his brother Harold F. "Red," who died Saturday.

 

Mr. Martin was employed as a forklift driver for Seneca Foods, East Williamson, until retiring.

 

Born Aug. 25, 1940, in Potsdam, son of Napolean J. Sr. and Elizabeth LaPage Martin, he married Lena Mousaw on June 25, 1961.

 

Surviving besides his wife are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Francis and Scott and Debra, all of Red Creek; two daughters and a son-in-law, Robin Martin, Red Creek, and Lisa Marie and Bruce Pickering, Sodus; a brother, George, Florida; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Gladys Blair and Ellen and LeRoy Simmons, all of Norwood, and Hazel and Lyle Felix, Norfolk, and 12 grandchildren.

 

Besides his brother Harold, three other brothers, David, Paul and Melvin, and three sisters, Doris Snickles, Mabel Brothers and Elizabeth Martin, died before him.

 

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Buck Funeral Home, Norfolk, with the Rev. Henry Christian, a great-uncle, officiating. Burial will be in Hale Cemetery.

 

Calling hours will be from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
