Retired Crane Operator
(January 11, 1924--July 17, 1999)
NORWOOD--Clifford E. Allen, 75, Old Market Road, died Saturday morning at Massena Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Allen retired as a crane operator for C.B. Sherman Co., Potsdam, and was a member of North Stockholm United Methodist Church.
Born Jan. 11, 1924, in Wisconsin, son of Herbert and Thena Dutton Allen, he served in the Army during World War II.
He married Marie Valade on May 20, 1950, in the rectory of St. Lawrence Church, Louisville, with the Rev. W.A. Nugent officiating. She died July 28, 1985.
Surviving are two sons, Michael and James, both of Norwood; a daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Patricia) Baxter, Madrid; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Buck Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
