MASSENA--A funeral Mass for Donald E. Brothers, 64, of 39 Brothers Road, will be said at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Church with the Rev. Jack L. Downs officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norwood.

Mr. Brothers died Saturday afternoon at University Community Hospital, Tampa, Fla., where he had been a patient since Jan. 24.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Donaldson Funeral Home.

Mr. Brothers was a maintenance supervisor at Reynolds Metals for 37 years, retiring in 1996.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed auto racing, hunting and camping, and was also a handyman.

Born July 12, 1939, in Stockholm, son of Vaughn and Mildred M. Beamis Brothers, he graduated from St. Lawrence Central School, Brasher Falls, and was an Army veteran.

He married Linda L. Nephew on June 2, 1973, at St. Edmund’s Church, Ellenburg, with the Rev. John E. Weir officiating. Mr. And Mrs. Brothers spent the past seven years in Florida.

Surviving besides his wife are a son, Brian R., Detroit, Mich.; a daughter and her husband, Christina L. and Wade Northrup, Plattsburgh, a grandson and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, Robert and Leo "Gene," died before him.

Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
