NORWOOD--The funeral for Donald A. Deon, 77, of 155 Reynolds Road, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Buck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Leon B. Sweeney officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Deon died Thursday at Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vt.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
He was an assistant strander in the cable mill at Aluminum Company of America, Massena, retiring in 1987 after 32 years of service, and a member of the former St. Lawrence County Senior Citizens Sheriff Patrol.
Born Aug. 20, 1927, in North Lawrence, son of Henry and Delia Burlingame Deon, he served in the Army during World War II. He married Dorothy Claffey on March 2, 1949.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons and their wives, Donald L. and Candice, Norwood, David and Janet, Norfolk, and Daniel and Judy, West Potsdam; three daughters and a son-in-law, Darlene Correia, and her companion, John Clukey, Syracuse, Debra Deon, and Duana and Ryan Gilbo, all of Norwood; a sister, Corlena Nichols, Potsdam, 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Lloyd, a sister, Denora Paro, and a grandson died before him.
Donations may be made to Parishville United Methodist Church or Potsdam Rescue Squad.
