Rites For Miss Jennie Flynn At Norwood

 

(August 4, 1878-June 26, 1938)

 

Funeral service for Miss Jennie A. Flynn, who died at 6:45 Sunday morning at her home in Norwood, following a three days’ illness from a cerebral hemorrhage and heart attack, was held at 9 this morning from St. Andrew’s Church, Rev. Father James E. Joy, pastor, officiating at requiem mass. Burial was made in Calvary Cemetery, Norwood.

Miss Flynn was born in Canton, Aug. 4, 1878, a daughter of Patrick and Bridget O’Connell Flynn. When a child she went to the vicinity of Norwood with her parents and had since lived there. She retired from teaching in 1932, after serving for thirty-two years, the last ten of which were in the primary department of Norfolk High School.

Remaining are five sisters, Mrs. Mary Bresee, Raymondville; Mrs. Thomas Rochford, Brasher Falls; Mrs. Della Carey, Misses Anna and Elizabeth Flynn, Norwood; five brothers, Daniel Flynn, Madrid; William, Charles and James Flynn, Norwood and Patrick Flynn, New Haven, Conn.

Canton relatives who attended the funeral were Mrs. Martha Flynn, Mr. And Mrs. Charles Richardson, Miss Hannah Flynn, Mrs. Catherine Flynn and daughter, Mrs. Clarence McVee.
