Nurse, Liquor Store Owner
(March 12, 1909--December 30, 1998) BRASHER FALLS--The funeral for Marion F. Frego, 89, St. Regis Nursing Home, Massena, formerly of Brasher Falls, is at 10 a.m. today at St. Andrew's Church, Norwood, with the Rev. Paul Worczak, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norwood.Mrs. Frego died Wednesday evening in Massena Memorial Hospital, shortly after being admitted. A homemaker, Mrs. Frigo did private-duty nursing in her earlier years and formerly owned and operated Norwood Liquor Store. Born March 12, 1909, in Gouverneur, daughter of Roy and Mabel Jones Overacker, she was a 1927 graduate of Gouverneur High School and a 1930 graduate of the St. Lawrence Hospital School of Nursing, Ogdensburg. She married Antoine F. Frego on Nov. 22, 1932, in St. Mary's Cathedral, Ogdensburg, with the Rev. John L. Plunkett officiating. Mr. Frego died July 24, 1995. Mrs. Frego was active in organizing minor league hockey in Norwood and was also a Girl Scout leader. Surviving are two sons, James, Oregon, and Gene, Norwood; two daughters, Mrs. John (Nilah) Cote, Ennisburg Falls, Vt., and Mrs. Ray (Helen) Taylor, Copenhagen; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A brother, William Overacker, and a sister, Ellen Sterling, died before her. Donations may be made to the Girl Scouts of America.
