NORWOOD--Melva T. Hunter, 95, of 97 N. Main St., died Tuesday morning at her home.
Mrs. Hunter was a social worker and a homemaker. She and her husband owned and operated Hunters Dairy from 1943 to 1979.
Born April 2, 1909, in Boston, Mass., daughter of Harvey and Marie Baker Mace, she married Fay Hunter on Oct. 2, 1936. He died Feb. 18, 1982.
She was a communicant of St. Andrews Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the former Catholic Daughters in Norwood. She enjoyed playing bridge and gardening.
Surviving are two sons, Stanley F., Latham, and Paul E., Norwood; two daughters, Cheryl M. Ware, Solomons, Md., and Mrs. Clayton (Patricia) LaRose, Norwood; a daughter-in-law, Rosemary Hunter, Roseboro, N.C., 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A son, Dean M., died before her.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrews Church with Monsignor Harry K. Snow, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Buck Funeral Home, Norwood, where the St. Andrews Altar and Rosary Society will meet at 5:30 to recite the Rosary.
