Evelyn J. LaRue

Head of nutrition center

NORWOOD--Evelyn J. LaRue, 89, of 51 Elm St., died Wednesday at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, where she had been admitted earlier in the day.

Mrs. LaRue was a former head of Norwood Nutrition Center.

She was a member of the Church of the Visitation, Norfolk, and the Norfolk Altar and Rosary Society. She also spent 14 years as president of Norwood Senior Citizens.

Born Oct. 14, 1912, in Kingston, Ontario, she was a daughter of James and Emily O’Kell Emburey.

She married Julius LaRue, June 1931, at the Church of the Visitation, Norfolk. Mr. LaRue died Feb. 10, 1988.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth J., Canton, and Ronald J., Norfolk; a daughter, Mrs. Jean LaPlante, Norfolk; a brother, Neil Emburey, Norwood; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, a son, Joseph, and two brothers, Cecil and Clay Emburey, died before her.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Visitation, Norfolk, with the Rev. Andrew Amyot officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Buck Funeral Home.
