Self-Employed Finisher
(February 22, 1925--November 18, 1999)
NORWOOD--The funeral for James B. Mahoney, 74, of 40 S. Main St., will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Buck Funeral Home with the Rev. Andrew Amyot officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Mahoney died Thursday at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Mahoney was self-employed, specializing in custom interior finishings. He was a member of the Church of the Visitation, Norfolk, and the Norwood and Norfolk American Legion posts. Born Feb. 22, 1925, in Potsdam, son of Jay and Agnes Mahoney, he served in the Army during World War II. He married Norma Jean Bennett on Jan. 1, 1947. She died Aug. 27, 1996. Surviving are three sons, Craig, Tad and Shane, all of Baltimore, Md.; three daughters, Pana MacConnell and Kellie Douglas, both of Norwood, and Danette Eckel, Palmer, Alaska; a sister, Mrs. Harold (Loretta) Derushia, Massena, and nine grandchildren. A son, Shawn, died. Donations may be made to the Church of the Visitation.
