NORWOOD--Bernard John McCormick, 73, of 8 Morgan St., died early Tuesday at his home.

Mr. McCormick served with the Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 and owned and operated McCormick’s General Store until his retirement in 1989.

Born Sept. 24, 1929, in Norwood, a son of Patrick B. and Ethel M. Colborn McCormick, he was a past member of Norwood Volunteer Fire Department, the American Legion Post and the Kiwanis Club.

Surviving are three aunts, Irene McCormick and Elizabeth Bowhall, both of Norwood, and Eileen St. Mary, Massena, and several cousins.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew’s Church with Monsignor Robert H. Aucoin officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Buck Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Kiwanis Club or the Norwood Volunteer Fire Department.
