Charles J. McKenty

FUNERAL PLANNED FOR CHARLES J. MCKENTY

 

NORWOOD -- The funeral for Charles J. McKenty, 84, Orange City, Fla., formerly of Norwood, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew's Church with the Rev. Paul Worczak officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. McKenty died Wednesday morning in West Volusia Memorial Hospital, Deland, Fla.

 

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Buck Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley or to St. Jude's Hospital, 205 W. Monroe St., Chicago, Ill. 60606.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; three sons, John, Vernon, Conn., Robert, Marcellus, and James, West Stockholm; four daughters, Mrs. Gary (Patricia) Prashaw, Norwood, Mrs. Richard (Jean) Disbo, Syracuse, Mrs. Thomas (Bette) Taylor, Mystic, Conn., and Kathleen Illian, Greer, S.C.; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Mary McKenty, Syracuse.

Two sisters, Helene and Elizabeth McKenty, died before him.

 

Born Aug. 6, 1910, in Norwood, son of John and Mary Roberts McKenty, he married Elizabeth Parr Nov. 22, 1935, in St. Andrew's Church with the Rev. James E. Joy, then pastor, officiating.

Mr. McKenty was a sales manager for the H.M. Kinsman Co. before becoming employed by Barstow Motors, Potsdam.

 

He was a communicant of St. Andrew's Church and a past member of the Norwood Fire Department.
