MASSENA--A mass of Christian burial for Madalene Potenzano, 92, formerly of Midtown Apartments, Potsdam, will be held in the spring at a time and date to be announced. A spring burial will be in the Norwood Calvary Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam.
Mrs. Potenzano died on Wednesday (Jan. 5, 2005) at the St. Regis Nursing Home, Massena.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Kathleen "Kelley" Potenzano of Hopkinton; a daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. John (Carole) Rea of Bayshore, Long Island; six grandchildren, Jennifer Potenzano, Rebecca Quinn, Danielle Potenzano, Thomas Rea, Christine Rea Miller and John Rea, Jr.; and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband and two sisters. Mrs. Potenzano was born in New York City on May 25, 1912, the daughter of Nicola and Mariangela (DeStafano) Crisuolo. She graduated from Evander Childs High School in New York City, and was employed by Morgan Guarantee and Trust in NYC as an accountant.
She was married to Frank Potenzano in New York on Sept. 6, 1936. He died on May 1, 1994.
Mrs. Potenzano was a member of the Potsdam Sandstoners and Parishville Hilltoppers Senior Citizens clubs. She was a charter member of the St. Lawrence Chapter of the AARP.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Judes Childrens Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
