HAMMOND--Helen E. Santimaw, 76, of 3006 County Route 6, died Thursday morning at her home.

She was a homemaker.

Born Nov. 6, 1927, in Norwood, daughter of Frank and Mary Cuthbert Spencer, she attended Norwood High School.

She married Paul R. Santimaw on Jan. 18, 1947 in St. Andrew’s Church, Norwood, with the Rev. F. J. Lyddy officiating. Mr. Santimaw was a supervising foreman at the Aluminum Company of America, Massena, retiring in 1989. He died Oct. 1, 1995.

Surviving are a son and his wife, Paul and Maureen, Norfolk; six daughters and four sons-in-law, Ann Cummings, Webster, Barbara and Gerald Combs, Grand Forks, N.D., Frankie Parent, Hammond, Linda and John Lauzon, Asheville, N.C., Alice and Marquis Grodin, Kannapolis, N.C., and Virginia and Gregory Bailey, Winthrop; a brother, Kenneth Spencer, West Stockholm; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Rose Spencer, Raymondville, Doris and Jerry Laramy, Norwood, Shirley Pommerville, Oswegatchie, and Jean and Michael Stoner, Rochester, 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A sister, Frances Walker, and two brothers, Donald and Frank Spencer, died before her.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew’s Church, Norwood, with Monsignor Harry K. Snow, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norwood.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Buck Funeral Home, Norwood.
