Bookkeeper

NORWOOD--The funeral for Mary J. Scanlon, 96, Highland Nursing Home, Massena, formerly of Norwood, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Church with the Rev. Paul Worczak officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Scanlon died Tuesday afternoon in Massena Memorial Hospital. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Buck Funeral Home. She was a bookkeeper at the First National Bank for 30 years. Born Aug. 20, 1904, in Norwood, daughter of George and Eva J. Martin Steinburg, she married Bernard J. Scanlon on Nov. 22, 1930, in Norwood. He died Nov. 24, 1956. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Carroll (Evelyn) George, Alexandria, Va., and several nieces and naphews. Two brothers, Robert and Clayton Steinburg, died before her.
