RUSSELL--Raymond J. Town, 86, Calousa Harbour Retirement Home, Fort Myers, Fla., a native of Russell, died Thursday at his home.

Mr. Town was an industrial engineer with Aluminum Company of America, Massena, retiring in 1976.

Born June 17, 1914, in Russell, son of Perl and Lela McGill Town, he was a graduate of Knox Memorial High School and Canton Agricultural and Technical Institute, where he majored in industrial electrical technology. He also completed a course in electrical engineering through International Correspondence School.

He married Geraldine C. McNerney Aug. 3, 1940, at St. Joseph's Church, Camillus, with the Rev. Francis Kehoe officiating.

After his retirement, he and his wife moved to San Carlos Park, Fla. They were founding members of Our Lady of Light Church, Estero, Fla.

Surviving besides his wife are four daughters and three sons-in-law, Anne and Donald Carson, Madrid, Mary and Robert LaPoint, Potsdam, Rosalie and Ronald Campbell, Norfolk, and Cecelia Espinoza, Eustis, Fla.; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Raymond and Patricia, Patrick and Catherine, and Charles and Katherine, all of Troy, Michael, Syracuse, and John, Albany; 18 granbdchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A son, Harold died before him.

A memorial service will be Monday at the Calousa Harbour Retirement Home chapel with the Rev. Mario Kono officiating. The body was cremated. Inurnment will be private at Calvary Cemetery, Norwood.

Arrangements are with Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
