Albert C. Vredenburg

Retired Navy Veteran

NORWOOD--Albert C. Vredenburg, 58, River Street, died Tuesday at his home. He had been ill with cancer.

Mr. Vredenburg served in the Navy for 30 years, retiring at the rank of command master chief in 1988. He was also manager of Norwood Hobby Shop for nine years.

Born July 3, 1940 in Catskill, he was a son of William and Elizabeth Zint Vredenburg Sr.

He had been married previously to Mary Lou Hanson.

He was a member of the Norwood American Legion, the Fleet Reserve Association and a life member of Massena Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1143.

Surviving are a son, Jonathan, Lakeland, Fla., and three brothers, Robert, Newburgh, Gerald, Constantia, and Roger, Virginia Beach, Va.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew's Church with the Rev. Paul Worczak officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Buck Funeral Home.
