NORWOOD--A memorial Mass for Janice M. Woods, 65, of 106 N. Main St., will be said at 10 a.m. March 12 at the Church of the Visitation, Norfolk, with the Rev. Andrew J. Amyot, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Woods died Tuesday morning at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam.

There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Buck Funeral Home.

She was a secretary with Cubley & Cubley attorneys, Potsdam, until her retirement in 2001, after 41 years.

Born Aug. 7, 1939, in Constable, daughter of Louis and Pearl Fleury Mersinger, she married Ralph J. Woods on Oct. 5, 1957, in Malone. He died Aug. 23, 1986.

Surviving besides her mother, of Malone, are her companion, Byron Short, Norwood; a son, James Woods, and his companion, Julie Jock, Norfolk; two daughters and a son-in-law, Debra and David Lashomb, Norwood, and Donna White, Raymondville; a brother and his wife, David and Teri Mersinger, Buffalo; three sisters, Audrey McDonald, Orange County, Fla., Mrs. Gary (Nancy) Brown, Malone, and Beverly Richardson, Portland, Maine, seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

A daughter, Terry Lynn Petrosky, four brothers, Gary, James, Gerald and Wayne Mersinger, and two sisters, Marie Robideau and Kathleen Aubin, died before her.

Donations may be made to Norfolk Volunteer Rescue Squad or the Church of the Visitation.
