Logger, Mechanic

POTSDAM--A graveside service for Roy J. "Joe" Wright, 71, of 544 River Road, will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Calvary Cemetery, Norwood, with Monsignor Harry K. Snow, pastor of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Norwood, officiating.

Mr. Wright died Friday afternoon at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where he had been a patient since June 11.

There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.

Mr. Wright was a self-employed logger and mechanic in the Potsdam area for several years.

He enjoyed attending stock car races.

Born April 14, 1934, in Potsdam, he was the only son of James and Olive Grover Wright.

He married Gloria Wood on Dec. 4, 1960, in Potsdam. She died Aug. 16.

Surviving are a daughter and her fiance, Elizabeth McMahon and Larry Sanders, address unknown; his mother-in-law, Loretta LaBaff, Potsdam, a granddaughter and a great grandson. A grandson died before him.
