MADRID--Katherine J. Babbitt, 82, of 417 Brady Road, died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday at her home.
Mrs. Babbitt was a homemaker.
Born July 30, 1916, in Madrid, daughter of William and Eva Sancomb Jarvis, she was a graduate of Norwood High School. She married Rodney A. Babbitt on Aug. 26, 1935, at St. Andrew's Church, Norwood, with the Rev. James E. Joy officiating.
She was a former member of Daily Ridge Home Bureau.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Rodney J., Waddington, and Lee "Mike," Ocoee, Fla.; seven daughters, Kathleen Rowe, Canton, Joan Cady, Madrid, Janet B. Kinnie and Jean F. Derrigo, both of Watertown, Eva B. Harrington, Boise, Ind., and Barbara B. Pike and Cynthia M. Babbitt, both of Waddington; three brothers, Francis Jarvis, New Mexico, and William and Donald Jarvis, both of Norwood; a sister, Evelyn Vaisey, Tennessee, 39 grandchildren and 63 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church, Waddington with Monsignor Robert L. Lawler officiating. Spring burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Memorial Home, Waddington.
