NORWOOD--The funeral for Loren Joseph Baker, 47, of 8 McKinley St., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Buck Funeral Home, Norfolk, with the Rev. Andrew J. Amyot officiating. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk.

 Mr. Baker died Sunday evening at his home. He had been ill with cancer.

 Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

 He was employed in the shipping and receiving department at Norfolk Paper Mill.

 Born Sept. 5, 1951, in Potsdam, son of Stewart and Shirley LaBaff Baker, he married Jacalyn Bond on Sept. 26, 1970. She died June 28, 1996.

 He was a communicant of the Church of the Visitation and was a Little League baseball coach and a high school baseball umpire.

Surviving besides his mother of Norfolk are two sons, Joseph S., Rochester, and James, Norwood; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Carrie) Sawyer, Canton, and Tara Baker, Norfolk; five sisters, Chris Ayotte, Mrs. George (Sally) Blair and Anna Baker, all of Norfolk, Mary Butzer, Norwood, and Mrs. Hale (Vickie) Brown, Easton, Pa., and three grandchildren.

 Donations may be made to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
