Leslie P. Bascom, died in the Potsdam hospital Monday morning after a four weeks illness. He had been in the hospital since Jan. 29. Death was caused by peritonitis.
Mr. Bascom was born in Norwood, June 20, 1873, son of Henry and Helen Parkus Bascom. On May 2, 1895 he married Miss Eliza Jenack at Waddington. He was a life-long resident of St. Lawrence county and had been employed by the Sission family since he was 17 years old. For a number of years he worked in the Sissonville planning mill. He had been an oiler in the Racquette River paper mill for the past 23 years.
Surviving are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Wilfred Perry and Mrs. Homer Cassidy both of Potsdam; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Ritchie, Waverly street; two brothers, Wesley, Sissonville, and Charles, Larned street and five grandchildren.
