Funeral services for Warren E. Baxter, 75, of Route 1, Norwood will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with the Rev. David E. Geer officiating. Spring burial will be in Hale Cemetery, Norfolk.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Baxter died Wednesday (March 28, 1990) at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where he had been a patient since March 5.
Surviving are his wife, Mary, of Winthrop; two brothers, Marcil of Knapps Station and Benjamin of Massena; three sisters, Bernice Baxter and Mrs. Bertha Hale, both of Knapps Station and Mrs. Beulah Peck of Raymondville; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Bernard.
Mr. Baxter was born Oct. 7, 1914 in Massena, son of Osie and Alice (Worden) Baxter. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He wed Mary Rose Morrissette Jan. 22, 1955.
Mr. Baxter was a retired operations engineer and a member of Local 545 construction union of Syracuse.
He was past commander of the American Legion Post 68 in Norwood and a lifetime member of the Parapaco Hunting Club.
