Dairy Farmer

NORWOOD--Charles H. "Pete" Bellus, 74, of 457 Douglas Road, died Saturday evening in Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, where he was admitted Friday.

 

Mr. Bellus owned and operated a dairy farm and was a school bus driver with Norwood-Norfolk Central School until his retirement in 1983.

 

Born May 8, 1923, in Potsdam, a son of Charles and Tacie Crites Bellus, he was a member of Skirts and Flirts Square Dancing Club, North Country Fiddlers Association and senior citizens groups.

 

Surviving are a nephew, Thomas Rutherford, Madrid; three nieces, Mrs. Gerald (Linda) Donnelly, Norwood, Mrs. David (Arlene) Bliven, Connorsville, Ind., and Mrs. Herman (Maude) Kahrs, Garrison, and 12 great-nephews and great-nieces.

 

The funeral will be a 2 p.m. Wednesday at Buck Funeral Home with the Rev. Janice Fife officiating. Burial will be in Daily Ridge Cemetery.

 

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
