POTSDAM--A memorial service for Andrew M. Besaw, 88, or 603 N. Pine St., Roseboro, N.C., formerly of Potsdam, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michaels Cemetery, Fine.
Mr. Besaw died July 29, 2000, in North Carolina.
Arrangements were with Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro. Burial was in St. Michaels Cemetery.
He was employed at Aluminum Company of America, Massena, until his retirement.
Born Jan. 15, 1912, in Fine, son of Andrew Frederick and Ellen Louise Murray Besaw, he married Mary Elda Stevenson. She died Dec. 24, 1962. He married Alice Osgood in 1976. The marriage ended in divorce in 1999.
Surviving are five sons, Richard, Van Nuys, Calif., Robert, Clinton, N.C., John, Turkey, N.C., Michael, San Antonio, Texas, and Andrew J., Massena; two daughters, Margaret Mello and Rosemary Hunter, both of Roseboro; three stepsons, Michael and Steven Osgood, Norfolk, and Douglas Osgood, Burke; three stepdaughters from his marriage to Alice Osgood, Regina Dunn, Nevada, Lola Owens, Oregon, and Eugenia Stark, Massena; 28 grandchildren, 11 set grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and seven step-greatgrandchildren.
A son, Andrew "Eddie", died Aug. 27, 1994.
