Mrs. Bradley Expires at 88

 

(March 31, 1889-February 22, 1978)

 

NORWOOD--Mrs. Clara Brown Bradley, 88, former Norwood and Madrid resident, died Wednesday morning at the Potsdam Nursing Home, where she had lived for nearly eight years.

A private funeral will be conducted Friday at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood at the convenience of the family. Rev. Betsy Mowry of the Madrid United Methodist Church officiating.

Spring burial will be in White Church Cemetery, Lisbon.

There will be no calling hours.

Mrs. Bradley is survived by two sons, Alfred of Salem, Ore. And Wilfred of Watertown; four daughters, Mrs. Lodene Hathaway, Bloomingdale, Mrs. Rena Morgan, Mrs. Millie Gibson, both of Norwood and Mrs. Betty Rourke, Madrid; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Helen Harrington, Camden, N.Y.; a brother, Charles Hough, Madrid; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

Born in Avon, Ont. March 31, 1889, she was the daughter of Allen and Emma Hitsman Hough. She married George Brown June 9, 1909. He died in 1938.

She married Harry Bradley on Aug. 1, 1940, and he died in 1951.

She lived in Madrid and Norwood during her marriage to Mr. Brown.
