NORFOLK--Paul D. Brownell, 82, of 29 N. Main St., died Saturday morning in Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam.

 Mr. Brownell owned and operated Brownell’s Mobil Station for 45 years, retiring in 1989. He was a Watertown Daily Times carrier from 1932 to 1936 and worked at St. Regis Paper Mill in Norfolk from 1940 to 1950, before becoming self-employed.

 He was a 50-year member of the Norwood Masonic Lodge and a past member of Norfolk Lions Club.

 Born Nov. 1, 1918, in Potsdam, son of Floyd and Lorrette Brayman Brownell, he graduated from Norwood High School. He married Elizabeth O’Brien on Sept. 21, 1968.

 Surviving besides his wife are a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Michael Corbeil, Saratoga; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

 Three brothers, James, Rodney and Reginald, died before him.

 The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of the Visitation with the Rev. Andrew J. Amyot officiating. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery.

 Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Buck Funeral Home.
