Marion H. Burke

LEBANON, N.H.--Marion H. Burke, 90, died Oct. 24, 2003, at the Lebanon Center of Genesis Eldercare.

She was born in Norwood, N.Y., June 15, 1913, the daughter of Frank and Mabel (Dana) Holinbrook.

She grew up in Springfield, Vt., and attended local schools.

She married Roland F. Burke on Aug. 2, 1941, and they made their home in Lebanon.

She worked at Chipman’s Drug Store, where she operated the soda fountain. She also owned and operated a needle and craft store in Lebanon.

She was a member of the Kimball Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Carter Country Club, Lebanon Women’s Club, and had served as a Girl Scout leader.

She is survived by two nieces, Joan Barton of Perkinsville, Vt., and Diana Knight of California; and a nephew, Richard Bromley of California.

She was predeceased by her husband in March 2000 and two sisters, Margaret Balcom and Marjorie Smith.

There are no calling hours.

Private burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

The Richer Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
