To The Editor:
Friday will be my mothers 90th birthday. Saturday will be her graveside service. Im writing this to let all who knew Margaret "Peg" LaFay Call know that we will be laying her to rest at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Garfield Cemetery in Potsdam.
Im also writing to thank everyone who contributed since Feb. 10-with prayers, food, phone calls, financial contributions and shoulders to cry on.
To the folks at Canton-Potsdam Hospital and Dr. Scott Johnson-the nurses in the emergency room and intensive care-thank you for your honesty and compassion.
Thanks to Dean, Corey and Lonny at Garners Funeral Parlor, Steve Miles and everyone at the Elks Club. Thank you to the ladies from St. Marys School who have all taught me truly what it means to help a friend out.
God bless the Rev. Gen Dox for her comfort and prayers.
My Mothers neighbors cannot go unmentioned. Dick and Marlene, Kenny and Betsy, Joan and Jack, Lee & Jeanette-for so long-these folks looked out for my mom. Jean Cotey, you never said no if I needed you.
The wonderful people from the First Congregational Church of Norwood and all of Norwood always treated my mother with adoration and love.
All my life, Ive listened proudly to peoples comments upon learning Peg Call was my mom.
Her humor, her stories, her newspaper writings from the 70s about local history. Ive never heard anyone say an unpleasant thing about my mom. She was a kind and wonderful woman. I praise her, and I love her and someday will embrace her, again. God bless all who have continued to remember our family and thank you, again-so very much.
Susan Maroney and all of
Margaret Calls Family
