Planning Dept. Worker

MASSENA--Ruth M. Cappiello, 81, of 41 Prospect Ave., died Thursday afternoon at her home. She had been ill for two years.
Mrs. Cappiello was a planner in the planning department at Aluminum Company of America until her retirement in 1981, after 36 years. She also managed the Mamselle Shop and owned and operated Caps Inn with her husband, W. Stanley.
Born April 30, 1921, in Knapps Station, a daughter of Merton and Augusta Deutschbein McGee, she was a 1939 graduate of Norwood High School and attended nursing school at Rochester General Hospital. She married W. Stanley Cappiello on June 6, 1955, at the Church of the Sacred Heart with the Rev. Jack Downs officiating.
She was a member of Alcoas 25-Year Club and enjoyed bowling, driving her car and traveling. She had been on trips to Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, all states and state capitols in the United States and all Canadian provinces and province capitols.
Surviving besides her husband are several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Robert E. McGee, died April 9, 1983, and a sister, Mary A. LaMay, died March 12, 1995.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Donaldson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley, P.O. Box 469, Potsdam, N.Y. 13676.
