NORWOOD--Blanche E. Charity, 99, formerly of Norfolk, died Tuesday morning at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Osroe Lee and Caroline, 303 County Route 48.

A homemaker, she was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Born Sept. 11, 1904, in West Pearl, Maine, daughter of Osroe and Carrie Brown Knight, she married Than J. Charity on Jan. 20, 1923. He died Jan. 13, 1965.

Surviving besides her son and daughter-in-law are another son and his wife, Bruce and Wilma, Newmarket, N.H., 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Joyce Emlaw, died May 8, 1999. Three brothers, Ralph, Leighton and Walter Knight, also died before her.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Norfolk, with the Rev. Richard Lenz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Bixby Cemetery, Norfolk.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Buck Funeral Home, Norfolk.
