Earl A. Claffey

 

(Dec. 7, 1891--April 21, 1979)

 

NORWOOD--Funeral services for Earl A. Claffey, 87, of 37 Baldwin Avenue, Norwood, will be held Wednesday, April 25, 1979 at 11 a.m. at the Buck Funeral Home, Norwood, with the Rev. Gary Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Raymondville Cemetery.

 Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Tuesday evening.

 Mr. Claffey died Saturday night (April 21, 1979) at the Potsdam Hospital where he had been a patient for three days.

 Surviving are his wife, Ethelene; a daughter, Mrs. Marion Richardson of Norwood; a son, Charles of Tennessee; two grandchildren; a step-daughter, Mrs. Douglas Armstrong of Malone.

 Mr. Claffey was born in Norwood, Dec. 7, 1891, the son of Charles and Grace Farnsworth Claffey. He was married to Lila Shaw in October of 1916. She died in March of 1972.

 Mr. Claffey was then married to Ethelene Roan in 1974.

 Mr. Claffey was an employee of the New York Central Railroad for 47 years, retiring in 1965 as a chief clerk.

 Mr. Claffey was an exempt member of the Norwood Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the United Church of Christ.
