Rosetta Clark

Mrs. Rosetta Clark, wife of George A. Clark of Norwood, died at the Potsdam Hospital Thursday, January 31, following an illness of three years. She was taken to the hospital about four weeks ago.

Mrs. Rosetta Juliette Nye was born in Milton, Vt. Dec. 14, 1858, daughter of Z. R. and L.A. Nye. She came to this state with her parents when about two years of age. She was educated in the schools of Lawrenceville and the Potsdam Normal. She taught in the rural schools for many years. She married E. C. Rockwell of Lawrenceville on January 1, 1880. One daughter, Rose Lorraine, was born to this union and she died in 1900. Mr. Rockwell died Nov. 9, 1919, at their home in Fondulac, Wisc. On May 3, 1924, she married George A. Clark of Norwood and up to the time of her death resided there. She was a life long member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and a teacher in the Sunday School.

She is survived by her husband, four step-daughters, Mrs. F. A. Bowhall of Norwood, Mrs. D. Underwood of Plumbrook, Mrs. C. Barnes of Harrison, and Mrs. Carrie Dickenson of Nebraska, together with several nephews and nieces.

The funeral was held at the M. E. Church, Norwood Sunday, Rev. Woodley officiating, assisted by Rev. Clark. The body was placed in the vault at Riverside cemetery awaiting burial at Southville in the spring.
