NORWOOD--William Gooding Cobb, 96, of 3 Appleridge St., Baldwinsville, a Norwood native, died Sunday in Baldwinsville at the home of his daughter, Carol Clarke.
Mr. Cobb had lived in Liverpool since 1969 and owned THOI Management Consulting there. He was personnel manager of Franklin Engine Co., Syracuse, and later Air Cooled Motors, Liverpool.
He was a member of the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce and Manufacturers Association of Central New York and was secretary-treasurer of the Syracuse chapter of the National Tool and Die Precision Engineering Association.
He negotiated labor contracts for local companies and contributed to the passage of the Taft-Hartley Act.
Born Sept. 25, 1901, in Norwood, son of Stephen S. and Marguerite Gooding Cobb, he was a 1928 graduate of Syracuse University and an Army lieutenant colonel during World War II.
Surviving besides his daughter are his wife, the former Jeanette Schmidt Kelson Grabowski, Syracuse Home, Baldwinsville, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
His first wife, the former Gertrude Koch, died in 1986.
Funeral and burial will be private. Arrangements are with Maurer Funeral Home, Baldwinsville.
