PARISHVILLE--The funeral for James W. Collins, 83, Parishville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, with the Rev. Leon B. Sweeney officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mr. Collins died Tuesday at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was a stationary engineer in the Potsdam State University College maintenance department.
Born Nov. 17, 1921, in Norwood, son of James H. and Susie P. Perrin Collins, he attended school in Norwood and served in the Army during World War II.
He married Eileen M. Barney on April 16, 1946, at St. Marys Church rectory in Potsdam.
Surviving besides his wife, of Potsdam, are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary J. and Diane, Potsdam, and Wayne R., Parishville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan E. Winney, Potsdam, and Debra and Michael Planty, Missoula, Mont., 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Two half sisters, Frances Collins Regan and Helen Collins, died before him.
