Father of Four Children, Previously Listed Missing, Was Killed March 2.

Norwood, March 24--Pvt. Andrew W. Deugaw, 31, son of Mrs. Christie Deugaw, 55 Elm Street, Norwood, who was reported as missing in action on March 2, was killed on that date, according to a war department telegram received by his wife, Mrs. Wilda Deugaw, 1 River Street, this village.
Andrew William Deugaw was born Dec. 12, 1913, in Moira, a son of Andrew and Christie Greenwood Deugaw. The family moved to Norwood when he was young and he attended Norwood High school. He married Miss Wilda Despaw of Norfolk on Aug. 30, 1934. The couple had resided in Norwood since their marriage.
Private Deugaw was employed at the Massena aluminum plant prior to entering military service March 23, 1944. He took his basic training at Camp Blanding, Fla., and was home on furlough in August. He reported to Fort George Meade, Md., from where he went overseas to England.
He fought with the First army in France and Belgium before going to Germany.
He is survived by his mother; his wife; four children, Jean, 10; Rita, 9, Robert, 3, and Nancy, 1; seven sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Beulah) Worley of Norwood, Mrs. Kenneth (Mildred) McDonald, of Canton, Miss Catherine Deugaw of Norwood, Mrs. Earl (Nellie) LaFay of Buffalo, Mrs. Wolcott (Grace) Brown of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Harold (Hazel) Richards of Chicago, Illo., and Mrs, Kenneth (Pearl) Gonyou of Norwood; two half-brothers, George Deugaw of Norfolk and Angus Voudren, Canton, and his grandmother, Mrs. Delia Greenwood of North Bangor.
