STAR LAKE--The funeral for Charles Oscar Doran, 86, Main Street, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hawley Funeral Home with the Rev. Eugene J. Beaudet, pastor of St. Hubert's Church, officiating. The body will be cremated. Burial will be in Oswegatchie Cemetery.

 Mr. Doran died Tuesday in Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, where he was admitted after a car accident Aug. 16, on Route 3 in the town of fine.

 Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where an American Legion service will be held at 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 8 p.m.

 Mr. Doran was a millwright at Newton Falls Paper Mill for 40 years.

 Born April 14, 1914, in Finch, Ontario, son of David and Mae Doran, he moved from Canada to Norwood and later to Benson Mines.

 A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the Philippines.

 He married Marian P. Pommerville on April 14, 1948, in St. Hubert's Church. The marriage ended in divorce. She died Jan. 4, 1995.

 Surviving are a daughter, Paula Doran, Watertown, and several nieces and nephews.

 Two brothers, William and Francis, and three sisters, Lucille MacMillian, Winifred Jesmer and Muriel King, died before him.

 Donations may be made to Clifton-Fine Hospital or to the Star Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad.
