Navy veteran

NORWOOD--Thomas Lawrence Fiacco, 62, St. Augustine, Fla., formerly of Norwood, died Monday at Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine.
Mr. Fiacco enlisted with the Navy in 1961, retiring as a senior chief after 26 years. He served three tours of duty in Vietnam and served his last 10 years aboard the nuclear submarines USS Puffer, USS Gurnard and USS Parche.
Born Feb. 24, 1943, in Potsdam, son of Peter A. and Pauline B. Fiacco, he was a 1961 graduate of Norwood-Norfolk Central School.
He had been a resident of St. Augustine since his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, Norma; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Amy, St. Augustine; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Scott Topper, Ormond Beach, Fla., Tabitha and John Carpentier, Newport News, Va., and Tiffany and Nikhil Rughoonundon, Memphis, Tenn.; a brother and sister-in-law, R. Joseph and Dianne, Newport; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Louis Castrello, Syracuse, and Bernadette and Terry Graves, Queensbury, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Private burial of his ashes at sea will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with W.E. Autenrith and Sons Funeral Home, Newport.
