Phyllis D. Finnan

(August 19, 1922-February 10, 2006)

CLIFTON PARK Phyllis D. (Orologio) Finnan, 83, of Ushers Road in Clifton Park, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on February 10, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy. Born in Norwood, N.Y., August 19, 1922, daughter of the late James and Carmella Orologio, she lived most of her life in Clifton Park, N.Y. She was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church. The oldest of 11 children, she helped raise all of her siblings, whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Finnan, who affectionately referred to her as Dutchess. Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Farinacci Milliman of Rotterdam; her son, Michael Farinacci (Son Sun) of Latham; her sisters, Rosalie Orologio Bonkoski, Jean Orologio-Gootz (David), Ann Brannon, Diane Raymond, Louise Speers, Rosemary Boprey (Michael) and her brothers, Anthony Orologio, Dominic Orologio, Lincoln Orologio and Thomas Orologio (Diane); her grandchildren, David Milliman Jr. and Christina Farinacci (Timothy); and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Phyllis loved spending time with her family and one of her great joys was feeding them and anyone who happened to show up at the family homestead (she was an excellent cook). She enjoyed ballroom dancing, was an avid reader and enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City. Phyllis and her husband formed a musical duo known as the Two Tones, in which she sang and played the drums. For the past year, she was a resident of Northwoods in North Troy and was a member of the Red Hat Society there. Phyllis loved people unconditionally and lived her life with dignity. She was truly a peacemaker, a most unselfish person as she gave of herself in full measure in the things that she did for others, always extending a helping hand or an ear to listen. She had a heart that gave and gave, never expecting anything in return. She truly left an impression on anyone she met. Phyllis will be in our hearts forever and will be missed by all who knew her. The family extends their appreciation to those who cared for Phyllis during the last phase of her life. Thank you to the staff at Northwoods Rehabilitation Center, Troy and the entire staff and clergy at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy for taking such loving care of her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at Corpus Christi Church, Ushers. Calling hours, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend, will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park. Burial will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
