Pfc. Kenneth Frego, Raymondville, Met Death in Luxembourg on Jan. 25
(November 2, 1920--January 25, 1945)
Norwood, Feb. 16--Mrs. Kennth Frego of Raymondville received word Tuesday that her husband, Pfc. Kenneth Frego, 24, was killed in action in Luxembourg on Jan. 25. Mrs. Frego was notified Feb. 8 that he was missing in action.
A memorial service for Private Frego will be held in the Raymondville Catholic Church Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. P.B. Riley, pastor, officiating.
Private Frego is survived by his wife, the former Miss Lorraine Paige of Madrid, and a daughter, Sharon, ten months old, who now reside in Raymondville; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Frego of Madrid; three bothers, Ira Frego, Raymondville, Antoine Frego, Norwood and Earl Frego, Madrid; and two sisters, Mrs. Francis (Mabel) Farnsworth, Norfolk, and Mrs. Morgan (Helena) Graves, Madrid.
Kenneth Frego was born in Madrid, Nov. 2, 1920, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Frego. He was educated at Madrid Central School and was employed for a time at the G.L.F. store in Norfolk and by the St. Regis Paper mill, Norfolk.
He and Miss Lorraine Paige of Madrid were married Aug. 28, 1941, by Rev. Father Cotter at the Catholic church, Brasher Falls.
At the time he entered service, he was employed at the Massena plant of the Aluminum Company of America. He entered service Jan. 7, 1944, and received basic training at Fort McClelland, Ala. After spending an eleven-day furlough at his home in Raymondville in October, he reported to Fort George M. Meade, Md., where he left for overseas in November. He went first to England, then to Scotland, Belgium and France and into Luxembourg. The last letter received from him by his wife was dated Jan. 14.
