Army Veteran

POTSDAM--Joseph A. Gagnon, 45, Allentown, Pa., a native of Potsdam, died Friday of heart failure at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He had undergone a heart transplant in 1988.

 

Born July 13, 1954, in Potsdam, son of Lester and Anna Phillips Gagnon, he was a graduate of Norwood-Norfolk Central School, Norwood, and Temple University, Philadelphia, Pa. He was an Army veteran.

 

Mr. Gagnon had been unemployed for health reasons.

 

Surviving are his companion, Cynthia Topoleski, Allentown; two brothers, Phillip, Kregville, Pa., and John, Chatham, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Brenda) Wray, Norfolk, and Mrs. Quentin (Belna-Jo) Woods, St. Regis Falls, and nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial mass will be said at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew's Church, Norwood, with the Rev. Paul Worczak officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

 

Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Buck Funeral Home, Norwood.

 

Donations may be made to the National Heart Transplant Association Fund. The family also requests that people sign an organ donor card.
