NORWOOD--Funeral services for Doris Catherine Jones Gotham, 78, of 26 Prospect St., Norwood, were held at the Nulton Funeral Home, Penfield, N.Y. Burial was at the Oakwood Cemetery, Penfield.

 Mrs. Gotham died unexpectedly July 27, 2000 at her home.

 She is survived by three sons, James, Norwood, David and Karen, Naples, Danny, Chapel Hill, N.C.; two grandchildren, Julie and Jesse of Naples; a sister, Shirley Seymour, Florida; and a brother, Jack Jones, Potsdam.

 She was born April 17, 1922 in Canton, the daughter of Cady and Margaret (Keating) Jones. She was the oldest of nine children.

 She married Cyrus C. Gotham on May 4, 1946, and they lived in Potsdam until 1964, when they moved to Penfield. Mr. Gotham died in 1991 and Doris moved back to Norwood in 1998.

 Doris was 19 when both her parents had died. She assumed responsibility for the family and her family meant everything to her. She loved to read, go to garage sales and attend the concerts on the Norwood Village Green.
