Raymondville Postmaster

RAYMONDVILLE--Enid M. Hall, 91, or 50 Woodland Drive, died Tuesday morning at her home.
Mrs. Hall was a schoolteacher in Dickinson Center for a year and owned and operated Hall's General Store with her husband, Howard, from February 1933 until the business was sold in 1967. She was postmaster of the Raymondville post office from Feb. 15, 1946, until her retirement on June 28, 1974.
Born July 12, 1909, in Dickinson Landing, Ontario, daughter of Albert G. and Mary J. Morgan Moss, she was a 1926 graduate of Norfolk High School and a 1929 graduate of Potsdam Normal School. She married Howard J. Hall on April 14, 1930, at the United Methodist Church parsonage, Brasher Falls, with the Rev. Albert E. Budd officiating. Mr. Hall died April 26, 1986.
She was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, Norwood, and its Ladies Guild, where she served as an officer. She was a life member and past officer of Lyra Chapter 230, Order of the Eastern Star, Norwood, where she received a 50-year pin in 1984, a member of the National Association of Postmasters and a former member of Jolly Agers Senior Citizens, Norfolk. She served on the Norfolk Museum board and enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles, watching television game shows and traveling.
Mr. and Mrs. Hall received the Raymondville community service award on Jan. 19, 1975. More than 200 guests attended an open house on July 11, 1999, at St. Philip's Church honoring Mrs. Hall on her 90th birthday.
Surviving are two son, Harry, Massena, and John, Houston, Texas; two daughters, Mary Jean Hall, Raymondville, and Carolyn Akland, Schenectady, nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Four brothers, Harry S., Herbert, William and Fred Moss, and a sister, Nellie Moss, died before her.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, Norwood, with the Rev. Robert L. Graham, rector, officiating. Burial will be in Madrid Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.
Donations may be made to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley or the memorial funds at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, Norwood, or the Raymondville United Methodist Church.
