Mary E. King

 

(October 3, 1920-July 3, 1996)

 

NORWOOD--Funeral services for Mary E. King, 75, of Lakeshore Drive, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Willsboro Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Warden officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Willsboro, N.Y.

 There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Garner Funeral Home in Potsdam.

 Mrs. King died Wednesday (July 3, 1996) at Canton-Potsdam Hospital where she had been admitted earlier in the day.

 She is survived by one son, Karl M. King of Norwood; two grandchildren; five brothers, James Smith of West Chazy, Clarence Smith, George Smith and Lloyd Smith, all of AuSable Forks, and Vincent Smith of Jay; and one sister, Mrs. Allen (Ellen) Dickerson of Elizabethtown.

 She was predeceased by two brothers, William and Horatio (Bucky) Smith, and one sister, Janet Smith Gillean.

 Mrs. King was born in Ausable Forks to William and Ethel (Reid) Smith on Oct. 3, 1920. She graduated from Keesville High School.

 She married William A. King May 10, 1941 in Clintonville, N.Y. She and her husband lived in Willsboro until his death July 16, 1983. After her husband’s death, she moved to Norwood with her son Karl.

 She was a member of the Willsboro Methodist Church.

 Memorial donations may be made to the Potsdam Rescue Squad-Norwood Volunteer Unit.
